MAGIC GUIDELINES
PLEASE BE THOUGHTFUL WHEN CREATING MAGIC
In Hearts & Fairy Tails we will allow a player to have TWO magic types per-character. This stems from the basis that Magic is learned and not inherited. And so, why can a character not learn more than one type of magic? In the animanga there have been characters that use magic outside of their normal type such as Jellal, Laxus, Makarov, Hades, and more.
While creating your magic, please keep several things in mind. First, your magic should not be anything that can instantly kill or control another player- however, paralysis techniques we will allow. I know in the animanga we've had several instances where a character is controlled by another, but for roleplay purposes this is just too hard to play out.
If you are a curse related magic user, you must list the weaknesses of your power to give he staff an understanding of how it may be broken.
Spells are the unique techniques based on your magic type. If you are a fire mage conjuring flames in your hand a throwing them is not a spell, it's a general use. Spells are the intricate use of ones magic.
However, if you are a shadow mage, turning into a shadow takes a new premise of shadow use and thus will be classified as a spell due to its unique nature of changing the user's physical properties. If you are confused on whether or not a technique is considered general use or a spell, message a staff member.
For secondary spells, a mage is only able to learn 4 in total. As for primary spells, we will allow for players to learn 8.
